AERIAL DATA ACQUISITION
By operating both aircraft and sensor systems in-house, OGL maintains direct control over acquisition quality, scheduling, and data consistency.
OGL conducts airborne geospatial data acquisition using fixed-wing aircraft equipped with advanced LiDAR and aerial imaging systems. Our acquisition programs are designed to support engineering, infrastructure, and environmental applications requiring high-accuracy spatial data.
SERVICES
LiDAR & AERIAL IMAGERY
OGL operates airborne LiDAR systems including the Teledyne Optech T2000 in conjunction with high-resolution mapping cameras. LiDAR and imagery are captured simultaneously during the same survey mission, allowing both datasets to share a common spatial reference framework and improving relative accuracy across deliverables.
As a result, these datasets support applications such as terrain modeling, corridor mapping, vegetation analysis, and infrastructure monitoring.
SERVICES
AIRCRAFT OPERATIONS
OGL owns and operates a fleet of fixed-wing aircraft dedicated to remote sensing missions. This integrated approach allows OGL to maintain full control over acquisition scheduling, sensor configuration, and data quality.
All flight operations are conducted under OGL’s Air Operator Certificate (AOC) and comply with Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs). Flight crews consist of experienced pilots and sensor operators who monitor sensor performance throughout each mission to ensure reliable data capture.
SERVICES
FLIGHT PLANNING & SYSTEM CALIBRATION
Aerial survey missions are designed by geomatics engineers to ensure efficient coverage, appropriate overlap, and required data density. Mission planning considers flight altitude, swath configuration, and project specifications to achieve the desired LiDAR point density and image resolution.
Sensor calibration and system alignment are verified as part of the acquisition workflow to ensure accurate and reliable geospatial datasets.
SERVICES
WEATHER & ACQUISITION CONDITIONS
Aerial survey operations are coordinated with aviation weather and environmental conditions to ensure optimal data capture. Flight crews monitor visibility, cloud cover, and surface conditions to identify appropriate acquisition windows and maintain consistent dataset quality.
SERVICES
INTEGRATED ACQUISITION APPROACH
OGL’s integrated acquisition approach ensures consistent data quality across all projects, with full control over mission planning, execution, and sensor performance.

This end-to-end control reduces project risk and supports reliable, repeatable geospatial data collection.
