TAMMY SMITH
CHIEF
EXECUTIVE
OFFICER
Tammy Smith serves as Chief Executive Officer of OGL Engineering and is a member of the Board of Directors. She joined OGL Engineering in 2009 and was appointed CEO in January 2018.
​
In addition to her role at OGL, she serves on the boards of two startups: Tack Tek and Buffalo InDigital.
Tammy graduated from the University of Calgary’s Schulich School of Engineering with a degree in Geomatics Engineering and is registered as a Professional Engineer in Alberta.
​
Outside of work, Tammy enjoys spending time with her husband and two young sons, and makes time for hiking, knitting, and sewing.

SAM RONDEEL
VICE PRESIDENT
ENGINEERING
Sam Rondeel is the Vice President Engineering at OGL Engineering. He joined OGL Engineering in 2016, was promoted to Production Manager in 2017, and moved up to the VP Engineering position in 2021. Sam also serves on the board of directors for Buffalo InDigital.

Sam Rondeel holds a valid Professional Engineer designation from APEGA, and is the Responsible Member for OGL Engineering. He is an active member of the Consulting Engineers of Alberta (CEA), the Geomatics Engineering Advisory Council at the University of Calgary’s Schulich School of Engineering, and has a Masters Degree in digital imaging systems.

During his spare time, Sam tries to sneak in the occasional video game or guitar session between taking care of two daughters, his dog and his wife.

BRENDEN BIRDSELL
VICE PRESIDENT
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Brenden is the Vice President of Business Development at OGL Engineering. Since joining the company in 2016, he has played a key role in delivering innovative geospatial and remote sensing solutions across a diverse range of projects. His experience spans custom GIS application development, immersive AR and VR experiences, and advanced remote sensing technologies tailored to client needs. Brenden is known for his collaborative, client-focused approach and his commitment to delivering practical, high-quality solutions.

In addition to his role at OGL Engineering, Brenden serves as Vice President of Tack‑Tek, a joint venture focused on using remote sensing technology to improve equine welfare and saddle fit through advanced 3D data collection and analysis.
​
Brenden holds a degree in Geomatics Engineering from the University of Calgary Schulich School of Engineering. Born and raised in Calgary, he enjoys spending time camping with his family and golfing with friends.

TANYA HANF
ADMINISTRATION MANAGER
Tanya joined the OGL team as an Administrative Assistant in 2007 after completing her Office Administration practicum with the company. In 2008, she stepped into the role of Administration Manager, where she now oversees Accounting, Human Resources, and the coordination of a wide range of services and resources that support the day-to-day operations of OGL.
​
Outside of work, Tanya is an avid outdoorswoman who spends much of her free time off-grid in the mountains. Each summer, she returns to her hometown in Nova Scotia to reconnect with the ocean. She also has a passion for writing poetry, often drawing inspiration from nature and the quiet moments found both in the mountains and by the sea.

BRIAN MOYNIHAN
AVIATION
MANAGER
Brian is the Aviation Manager, overseeing flight department operations at OGL Engineering.  Brian joined OGL Engineering in 2019 after 10 years of field survey work and land survey project management.
  
Brian graduated from the University of Calgary’s Schulich School of Engineering with a degree in Geomatics Engineering and is registered as a Professional Engineer in Alberta.  
​
An avid hiker, Brian has hiked the entirety of the Appalachian Trail (2250 miles) and the Pacific Crest Trail (2650 miles) from Mexico to Canada.

ALFRED D'MELLO
SAFETY
MANAGER
Alfred D’Mello graduated from the University of Calgary’s Schulich School of Engineering with a degree in Geomatics Engineering and later became a registered Professional Engineer in Alberta. His interest in geomatics and digital environments was originally inspired by video games and technology, eventually leading him toward aerial imaging, LiDAR, and airborne data collection. He joined OGL Engineering after graduation and has since contributed to a wide range of operational and safety initiatives across the company.
Since 2018, Alfred has led the development and management of OGL Engineering’s Safety Management System while also helping develop tools and workflows that support aerial operations and post-flight data processing. He enjoys finding practical, lasting solutions to everyday challenges and improving how teams collaborate and communicate with data and technology.
​
Outside of work, Alfred enjoys video games, home automation projects, and spending time with family.
MARNIE DUNBAR
PRODUCTION MANAGER
Marnie joined OGL Engineering after graduating from the University of Calgary in 2016. Becoming a Professional Engineer with APEGA in 2021, she is currently a Production Manager with OGL. 
​
In her spare time, you would most likely find her relaxing at home with her cat while knitting, crocheting or reading a good book.
DOMINIK OBAD
PRODUCTION MANAGER
Dominik graduated from the University of Calgary’s Schulich School of Engineering with a degree in Geomatics Engineering. After six years of field‑based surveying experience, he joined OGL Engineering in 2021. He later earned his Professional Engineer designation through APEGA and has been practicing in Alberta since 2023.
When he’s not working, Dominik is drawn to the outdoors. Whether hiking, skiing, rock climbing, or unwinding on a camping trip with his wife, he’s most at home in Alberta’s backcountry.
